Add-ons
Optional features billed on top of your plan
What are add-ons?
Add-ons are optional features sold orthogonally to your plan tier. Free, Professional and Enterprise workspaces can all activate the same add-ons; pricing and capability are independent of the underlying plan. Each add-on has its own monthly subscription and its own invoice.
Available add-ons
Today the catalog is small but it grows. Current entries:
- Anzen Extract (5 documents free, then €99 / month) - draft controls and full policies from your PDFs / DOCX / ODT using AI. See the Extract documentation for the full flow and data-processing notice.
- Anzen Knowledge Base (€59 / month, 14-day free trial) - browsing and managing knowledge base articles is included standard in every plan (RBAC-only), with a free portal browse for end users; this add-on covers the AI ask layer only: context-aware policy Q&A grounded in your own data, every answer cited, processed on an EU-resident model. See the Knowledge Base documentation for grounding, permissions and the data-processing notice.
- Anzen Compliance (€79 / month, 14-day free trial) - auditor-ready evidence for your frameworks: Statement of Applicability and evidence-pack exports, plus scheduled evidence collection. The guided journey, readiness dashboard and SoA stay free on every plan; this add-on covers the export and scheduled-collection layer.
Free trials
Two of the recurring add-ons can be tried before you buy. The trial matches how each add-on delivers value:
- Anzen Knowledge Base and Anzen Compliance - 14-day free trial. A workspace superadmin can start a one-time 14-day trial per add-on from the Add-ons tab. During the trial the add-on is fully functional, identical to the paid version, and no payment method is required.
- Anzen Extract - usage trial, not time-limited. Extract gives you 5 free extractions per workspace instead of a time window, so a trial can never let you ingest your whole document library for free. Need more headroom? Anzen support can top up your free-extraction allowance.
When a 14-day trial ends the add-on locks again exactly like a cancelled add-on: the paid actions stop, but everything the add-on produced stays in your workspace and is never deleted. While a trial runs you see a "N days left" banner with a Buy to keep it button, and we email the workspace admins 3 days before expiry and on the day it ends. Buying at any point converts the trial to a paid subscription with no interruption in access. A self-serve trial can be started once per add-on; Anzen support can extend or re-enable a trial on request.
Activating an add-on
Activation is self-service for workspace superadmins:
- Open Account › Billing from the sidebar and switch to the Add-ons tab.
- Pick an add-on and click Activate.
- A confirmation modal shows the price, billing terms and any data-processing disclosures relevant to that add-on.
- If your workspace already has a payment method on file (you've paid at least one Anzen invoice through Mollie), the add-on activates immediately and the first month is charged in the background.
- If you don't yet have a payment method, you're sent through Mollie's checkout to set one up. The add-on activates once that first payment clears.
Billing details
- Separate invoice per add-on. Each active add-on generates its own monthly invoice with its own number, alongside your plan's per-user invoice.
- Activation-day anchor. Renewal happens on the day of the month you activated. Activate on the 14th and you'll be invoiced on the 14th of every month thereafter.
- Full first month. The first invoice is the full €99 (or whatever the catalog price is) - no pro-rata.
- VAT-aware. Add-on invoices follow the same VAT rules as plan invoices: 21% Dutch VAT by default, 0% reverse-charge for foreign EU businesses with a non-NL VAT ID.
- Price snapshotting. The price you see at activation is locked into the subscription. Future catalog price changes don't retroactively rewrite your bill.
- Failed-payment policy. Failed add-on payments are retried at days 3 and 7. After 7 days unpaid, the add-on is auto-deactivated and the workspace billing contact + Anzen ops are notified. Your plan is not affected.
Cancelling
Cancellation is one click on the Add-ons tab of Account › Billing and takes effect immediately. No further charges are raised, and you keep access to anything the add-on already produced (e.g. controls and policies Extract created stay in your workspace). Anzen does not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of the current month.
Who can activate or cancel add-ons
Only workspace superadmins can activate or cancel an add-on, since both actions affect billing. The Add-ons tab itself is visible to any user with access to the Billing page (so the team can see what's active), but the buttons require superadmin and the backend re-checks on every call. Each transition is recorded in the workspace audit log with the actor's user id.
